Potty Training Tips from Stylish Vintage Baby
Potty-training
can be a stressful time for parents and little ones but there are
some great tips and tricks for making it fun and successful for
everyone.
The
key is to watch for signs that the child is interested and
developmentally ready. Comparing one child to the next is not helpful
because they are all different and putting pressure on a toddler may
actually delay the process.
There
are lots of potty-training products available from potty chairs to
seats that fit on a regular toilet as well as, pull-up training
pants. Some parents go all out and buy a variety of potty-training
props, while other parents decide to train the child right on the
toilet. What works and doesn't work often depends on the child. Consistency
is more important than the method that is used.
Rewards
such as pennies for a piggy bank or little treats or stickers work
very well as potty-training incentives and do a whole lot for
boosting the child's enthusiasm, making potty-training fun!
Encouraging
the child to sit on the toilet or potty every 20 minutes will help
them to get into a good routine and prevent accidents from happening.
Potty-training
is a time for parents and caregivers to give the child lots of praise
and encouragement. Demonstrate love, affection and pride in the
child's success. When accidents happen, stay positive and keep moving
forward.
Applying
these tips can go a long way in avoiding stress during potty-training
and ensuring success!
