Banned & Controversial Candy:

  • Kinder Eggs: This German candy egg with a milk chocolate shell, white chocolate layer and hollow center containing a toy has been banned in the USA and deemed a choking hazard with fears that the small parts contained in the plastic capsule could be dangerous to children under the age of three. In fact, the USA has banned any candy containing non-food items like small toys.
  • Candy Cigarettes: (banned in Finland, Norway, Ireland, Turkey and Saudi Arabia)
  • Lollipipe: (real pipe classed as 'candy' rather than 'paraphernalia')
  • Road Kill Gummis: (Kraft halted production in response to outcry by animal rights activists)
  • Valentine's Candy Hearts: (banned in some schools)
  • Maoam Candy: (caused a huge uproar in England due to suggestive imagery on the packaging)
